Get to know Leo Wogram

Leo Wogram is a Phd candidate in the group of Robert Langer. He is doing research of Polyester Amides through Hydrogen-Transfer-Catalysis of Polyesters.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

The excitement of my job lies in the thrill of discovering something new every day. It’s incredibly rewarding when a hypothesis is confirmed, and unexpected successes make the work even more exhilarating. Inspiring students and sparking their enthusiasm for chemistry adds another fulfilling dimension to my role.

Why do you want to do a Phd about polymers?

I aspire to contribute to sustainable chemical research. I started working on polymers during my master´s degree. Developing new and improved, potentially recyclable polymers is an interesting topic with high long-term significance.

How is a good supervisor in your eyes?

A good supervisor is able to spark interest and motivation through collective brainstorming and collaborative planning. They support and inspire enthusiasm through engagement and encouragement.

Who / What inspires you?

I am inspired by the exchange of ideas at symposia and especially by engaging discussions and shared progress within our research group. This also strengthens our collective expertise and fosters innovative development.
