Improved Reading (Speed Reading Workshop)
November 13, 2025 @ 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Description
Scientific work demands a substantial amount of reading, often making it one of the most time-consuming activities in research. Do you also sometimes feel guilty about not reading enough? What if you could increase your reading speed by 25-100% (depending on text complexity and your English proficiency) while also enhancing your comprehension and motivation? Our “hybrid” training program builds on our standard two-day classroom course and includes 8-10 hours of personalized online training (with a dedicated coach) and three group webinars (totaling 5 hours). Additionally, optional training opportunities are available beyond the course.
Course Components:
- Individual Speed Reading Online course with personal coaching (10 sessions, 45-60 minutes each)
- Complete flexibility: 10 sessions, 45 minutes each, to be completed over several weeks
- Guidance and support from an experienced coach
- Option to choose the course in German instead of English
- Three group webinars on fixed dates (2 sessions of 2h, 1 session of 1h)
- Special insights on efficiently reading scientific texts, including memory and note-taking techniques
- Feedback on applying course techniques to your scientific reading
- Opportunity to submit your own scientific text examples
- Voluntary training options beyond the course (free for all former participants)
- Access to an alumni website with all course tools, tests, and exercises (German & English)
- Refresher webinars (German & English)
- 12 short reminder emails over three months (German only)
Course Goals:
- Increase reading speed
- Improve text comprehension
- Master various reading techniques, strategies, and intensities
- Enhance concentration and motivation
- Learn specialized techniques for reading scientific texts
The course material includes a 60 pages text document covering all our advice on reading scientific texts more efficiently (German and English).
Please note that this online course requires a high level of self-discipline. To fully benefit, carefully follow the instructions and participate in at least the first and last webinar sessions. Only then can you expect a significant transformation in your reading habits.
