Clear at Glance – Designing Effective Academic Posters (Course 2- Soft Skill Core Package)

Kolloquium 5.10, Von-Senckendorff-Platz 1, Heide-Campus

Poster sessions are an integral part of almost every scientific conference. Their purpose is to highlight research results, visualise them and stimulate discussion. To draw your audience in, you need a crystal-clear message, a text format optimized for best legibility, well-chosen graphics and above all, a convincing layout for a printed or digital format.

Good Scientific Practice (Course 1- Soft Skill Core Package)

Kolloquium 5.10, Von-Senckendorff-Platz 1, Heide-Campus

Good scientific practice is the basis for reliable research and scientific progress. This workshop explores the principles of good scientific practice from both systemic and practical perspectives. What values guide scientific work? What are our responsibilities as researchers? What are established standards in good scientific practice? And what obstacles make it difficult to follow them?

Improved Reading (Speed Reading Workshop)

online

Scientific work demands a substantial amount of reading, often making it one of the most time-consuming activities in research. Do you also sometimes feel guilty about not reading enough? What if you could increase your reading speed by 25-100% (depending on text complexity and your English proficiency) while also enhancing your comprehension and motivation? Our “hybrid” training program builds on our standard two-day classroom course and includes 8-10 hours of personalized online training (with a dedicated coach) and three group webinars (totaling 5 hours). Additionally, optional training opportunities are available beyond the course.

Impostor Syndrome Workshop

online

Impostor Syndrome describes the feeling of constant self-doubt about one's own competence and performance. It includes the feeling of being an intellectual fraud and in danger of being exposed at any moment, despite their objective success. This concept is mainly described for high-achieving people. It often affects people who do not attribute or recognize success due to their own achievements and abilities.
